Pitt Moving Up in NCAA Power Rankings

By: Zander Stamatakis

The Pittsburgh Panthers move up in the official NCAA power rankings after a win against the Clemson Tigers on saturday October 23rd at Heinz Field.

Kenny Pickett, the quarterback for the Panthers, had an amazing game, putting up great numbers and stats, throwing for 302 yards and 2 touchdowns and rushing for 15 yards.

Rodney Hammond Jr. and Israel Abanikanda were a good scoring combination, with Rodney Hammond rushing for 66 yards and Israel Abanikanda rushing for 56 yards.

Damari Mathis and SirVocea Dennis also put up great numbers on defense with both of them getting an interception.

“A win against Clemson in 2021 doesn’t have as much weight as it would have in years prior. But for Pitt — a team that’s been looking to topple the Tigers for far too long — Saturday’s win was the vindication of endless effort and hard work.” ~ ESPN football
